HISTORY OF THE CHURCHES BEGINNING
The following will give you information on the planting and building of each Village church from the beginning until the present time.
Tichindeal While visiting the village of Tichindeal in the summer of 2001, an eighty year old man by the name of Arron
Meholitz asked Bro. Janes to come to his village and teach them about Jesus. God moved on Bro. Jane’s heart to start a church, and so a building was purchased and then renovated and the first
church was established. Today this church has an attendance of around fifty plus. God has touched many lives in this small farm village of one hundred and fifty people. Today this church is being
pastored by two men who were saved in the Nocrich church along with their wives. Brother Audi and Brother Liviue have completed a two year bible course and now are working under the guidance of
Pastor George Covicha who pastors the church in Nocrich. Both were saved in the Nocrich church along with their wives. Each family has a tremendous testimony of what God has done in their lives.
Audi’s wife Crena is praise and worship leader in her home church and this church. Liviue’s wife Victoria teaches Sunday school in the two churches as well.
Fofeldia After the church in the village of Tichindeal was started, Bro. Janes was asked to come to the village of
Fofeldia the next summer. Some of the people from this village of Fofeldia started coming by horse and wagon to the church at Tichindeal. After meeting with the school director we were able to rent
the small school for two weekly services. This was the beginning of the Fofildia village church. The second service had about forty people in attendance. During that meeting an Orthodox priest along
with a monk walked in and tried to disrupt the service. The priest told pastor Christy Talpa that his church did not have to come to the village to teach the people about Jesus because the priest and
monk had their ”bones from dead holy men and their other icons to perform miracles”. In the face of this persecution, twenty people were saved that night. The church outgrew their first
building, and today sits a new church in this village that will seat a hundred and fifty people. God has saved many men, women and children in this village. There are testimonies of healing as well.
At the very beginning after many years of drinking the village drunk was saved and delivered from alcohol instantly.
Nocrich Nocrich was the third church started in a village seven miles from Tichindeal. There were two families that
wanted to go to church so they walked seven miles to and from the church on Sunday in the hot summer heat. One young man and his wife with a very small baby made this trip several Sundays. Bro. Janes
had taken a group of people to Romania with Touching Lives for Jesus Ministry (TLJM) in the month of July, and they met the two families in church. Because the team members of TLJM were using a van,
the two families asked for a ride to Nocrich. That day Brother Janes asked if we would come to Nocrich and start a church. The next day the Lord provided two large rooms to be used for a church. The
rent was fifteen dollars a month, which included cleaning and electricity. The very next Sunday was the first service and over fifty people were in attendance. It was in this service that a young
wife came forward and accepted Christ. She said God had spoken to her in a dream the night before and told her to come to this service. TLJM returned one month later and baptized ten new converts in
the river, where over two hundred and fifty turned out for this service. Today Nocrich has it’s own building with a congregation of two hundred men, women and children. God has performed many
miracles in this congregation. Audi and Liviue were saved, trained and ordained in this church. Audi a man that was going to kill his wife if she got saved and baptized now is a minister of the
gospel leading others to Christ.
Hosman The next and fourth church to be planted was the village of Hosman. We began meeting in a small two room house
in this village. The church grew rapidly and many were saved and baptized. Today a new building in this village has been completed that will seat around one hundred and fifty. During the construction
of this church it was necessary to hire a person as a night watchman to watch over all or the building materials that was stored on site. George Zimbrue was hired for this job. George nor any of his
family had ever been to church. They started attending services regularly and the entire family were saved. Today George’s Son is an elder in this church. His daughter is praise and worship
leader and all are serving God. Lives have been touched and miracles of healing have been shared.
Ocna Ocna Sibiuli is located about ten miles outside of the city of Sibiu Romania. This is the location that a
fifth church has been planted and began construction on April 1, 2008. Ocna has a population of about eleven thousand people. The existing church with an attendance of about forty men, women and
children were meeting in a building with half of the roof caved in and no electricity. Due to the condition of the building the city had to tell them the building had to be vacated and the
electricity turned off.
On the night of February the 5th 2007 I had the privilege of visiting and preach in that building. Electricity brought in with an extension
cord and one dim light bulb. Today they are meeting in the lower part of a new building under construction. They will have a new sanctuary fifty-five feet by thirty feet wide that will seat around
two hundred and fifty plus people. It will have a lower level basement with bathrooms and a room for youth and children. Thanks to the response of many partners and churches this will be made
possible.
